• 85 Book Garners Awards

    85 the book has continued to garner awards. It won an Honourable Mention in the limited edition book category of the 2013 Alcuin Society Book Design Awards, and has been on exhibit in a number of Canadian cities, as well as at the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany. The book was also cited by Applied Arts Magazine in both the Typographic Book Series and Complete Book Design Series categories.

    The New Gallery in downtown Calgary's Epcor Centre is hosting a window exhibition of the 85 Project from February 4 to April 5, 2014.

  • "Project 85 As X-Cultural Ecriture" in Oregon State, USA

    In May 2011, the 85 Project was invited to Oregon by the University of Oregon Confucius Institute to present lecture demonstrations on the methodology of creating the 85 poems. On May 12, we presented at the University of Oregon in Eugene, and on May 13 we presented at Portland State University in Portland. In each talk, Claire Huot and Robert Majzels outlined their process for translating the 85 poems, and the origins of the poetic constraint of 85 letters which they work with to create the poems. 85 artworks from the Tang and Bada Shanren series were on display during the talks, and audience had the opportunity to participate in the project by reading 85s.
